Travel Tips

Legasea is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. We suggest renting a car. There are a number of car rental agencies located right next to the airport.

If you do not rent a car, you can find a taxi service at the airport for about $80.00 (USD) with tip.

Both Washington D.C. (Dulles) and Denver have direct flights to Grand Cayman.

You must travel with a passport. Remember that you will go through customs in Cayman as well as on your return trip, so plan accordingly.

Grocery stores are not open in Cayman on Sunday, so if you plan to get groceries on your arrival you won’t want to arrive on a Sunday.

We recommend grocery shopping at Fosters or Hurley’s next to the airport. These are the largest and best stocked grocery stores on the island. If you want to get settled first, go to Foster’s Express on the north side of the island. It is about a 15 minute drive from Legasea. There is also a small grocery store that is about a 7 minute drive from Legasea called Chisolms. Do shopping for wine and spirits on your way from the airport. There are larger liquor stores near the grocery stores. There is also a small liquor store about a 10 minute drive from Legasea at Nicho Norte.
